Chaka will open space alongside Elli Maaret Helander, lovingly known as the “Mother of Drums.” Elli is a Sámi Elder and a revered guardian of sacred traditions, carrying the ancestral art of drum building and painting for over 33 years. Born in Utsjoki, the northernmost municipality of Finland, Elli has dedicated her life to reviving and preserving the ancient Sámi methods of crafting drums. Her process honors the natural rhythms of life—each drum is handmade from natural materials, including reindeer skin processed without chemicals, and adorned with meaningful Sámi symbolism.

During this 3-hour event, you will be guided through SURUNA, a transformative method led by Chaka. This unique experience combines drumming, breathwork, and mindful community interactions, helping you align with your inner vibration and the rhythm of life itself. These techniques are not merely about playing the drum—they are about releasing blockages, rediscovering your flow, and reconnecting with your true Purpose.

Rhythm is at the core of who we are. Our heartbeat, breath, and the cycles of the universe all move in harmony. The drum acts as a bridge between your inner world and the flow of life around you, helping you cultivate awareness of these natural rhythms. What makes this event even more special is the opportunity to stand on Sámi territory and hear from a Sámi Elder who carries the sacred traditions of her land’s drums—used for millennia as tools for healing, storytelling, and connection. In this ARPI Circle, Chaka and Elli will share insights from their life journeys and the wisdom of ancestral traditions from two distinct parts of the world. Together, they’ll offer guidance accessible to everyone, no matter your drumming background. This is not just about the drum—it’s about awakening the wisdom already within you. It’s about re-humanizing and remembering who we were always meant to be: humans in harmony with life.
